The Florida House passed Florida Chamber-backed legislation that will curb Assignment of Benefits abuse that is driving up the cost of insurance and threatening the affordability of home ownership for many Floridians. The Florida Chamber, and its Consumer Protection Coalition, thank Rep. Jay Trumbull for leading efforts to stop AOB fraud and abuse with his bill, HB 7015, and we urge the Florida Senate to follow suit and send a signal that these abusive practices have no place in Florida.

First Lady Ann Scott welcomed more than 30 students from Springwood Elementary School to the Governor’s Mansion on May 1 for the seventh annual Summer Literacy Adventure kick-off. The Summer Literacy Adventure challenges students to pledge to read as many books as possible over the summer, with the goal of students maintaining and improving upon the skills they gained during the previous school year.
